Locating ‘power’ in wind power planning processes: the (not so) influential role of local objectors
This article arose from an Economic and Social Research Council Collaborative CASE studentship award (PTA 033-2005-0002), Understanding Community Responses to UK Onshore Wind Projects. The industry sponsor was Scottish and Southern Energy (SEE). This article was the first academic output arising from the project and focused on the issue of corporate and community power in the planning process, with other articles arising from this project having now also appeared in leading journals such as Energy Policy and Environmental Politics. This work also provided the platform for the publication of the book, Wind Power and Power Politics (Routledge, 2010).
