Additional information

This paper describes the first use of non-linear signal processing to separate the velocity components of neural signals. The work stemmed from an international collaboration led by Bath and has resulted in the formation of a new international consortium to pursue in vivo validation of the technique. The work described in the paper represents a major step towards the practical exploitation of velocity-selective neural recording.
