This work resulted from a collaborative Carbon Trust funded project that Wilcox coordinated. This work presented a fuzzy optimisation approach to the control of unprepared biomass on chain grate stoker fired boilers and demonstrated that these systems could be utilised for local heat generation using such fuel sources.
