Double-weighted statement

This book generates an entirely new concept, method and theory for understanding what Konishi claims is a major cultural and intellectual current in modern Japanese history. Anarchist Modernity overturns everything we have done in our historiography of modern Japan. It is simultaneously about Russian-Japanese non-state transnational history and makes use of materials from over 25 archives in Russia, the U.S. and Japan in 5 different languages. The archives range from private individual, to local village, to organizational and institutional, to nation state collections. Most of the material has never been used previously for Japanese history.
