On the basis of this paper, the first published paper by the author on electromagnetism, Langley was invited to present a paper at a special session on "Stochastic Electromagnetics" at the URSIGASS 2011 Conference in Turkey. The work also forms the basis of a US patent application entitled "Induced Field Determination using Diffuse Field Reciprocity", application number 13227330, filed on 7 September 2011. Commercial software based on the work is being developed in collaboration with cd-adapco and a new spin off company "wave six" has been formed.
