A patent based on this work, ‘Active steering controller’ (British Patent No 0715142.6 and European Patent EP 08788245.2), was granted on 4 May 2011. An exploitation agreement for this technology has been signed between the University and TRIDEC BV (letter on file). A first commercial prototype vehicle has been developed in a project with the University in collaboration with Wincanton Ltd (David Rowlands, Technical Services Director, ID_in_audit_file@wincanton.co.uk); TRIDEC; and SDC Trailers.
