Additional information

A newly-proposed response bounding method for uncertain-structures is tested in the mid and high-frequency regions. The FRF and energy density response are bounded for harmonically-excited plates with random boundary conditions using the new DSC method for simulation. This shows for the first time that extreme-value-based FRF bounding is generally applicable across the entire frequency range, confirming that the same method can be used to predict automotive and aerospace structural responses at all frequencies.

The work was undertaken with Special Applications Department, CDH AG via an EU FP7 Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways project (PIAP-GA-2008-218030). Contact: Dr L Huang, Tel:+49841974810, Email: linchun.huang@cdh-ag.com
