A practical numerical framework for free surface flows based on CLSVOF method, multi-moment methods and density-scaled CSF model: numerical simulations of droplet splashing
This paper proposed a new methodology to compute surface tension force. The methodology plays an essential role in simulating capillary flows with complex interface geometries such as droplet splashing. The fluid framework with the newly proposed surface force model is currently the only numerical framework which can capture droplet splashing at least qualitatively (other existing methodologies cannot capture the phenomenon even qualitatively). The proposed methodology can be used to simulate various free surface flows in engineering as well as science (such as atomisation, CO2 mixing by oceans and milk crown).
