Additional information

Structured surfaces are becoming increasingly important in many field such as optics, MEMs and bio-functional applications. The geometrical assessment of surface structures remains a significant challenge especially where non uniform sampling is used. In this output, funded under the ERC project AdG 117228-Surfund, potential intelligent sampling strategies for surface topography measurement are investigated by using numerical simulation and experimental verification. The advantages, stability and feasibility of these techniques for practical measurements are discussed. The impact of the work is evidenced in the fact that the results have been implemented in the FP7 NanoMend project (NMP4-LA-2011-280518)
