Pragmatic strategy: Eastern wisdom, global success

Zhichang Zhu’s book, Pragmatic Strategy, is the result of a six-year collaboration with Ikujiro Nonaka, involving several visits to Japan for collaborative discussions and an extensive investment of writing time. Dr Zhu produced first drafts of many of the chapters and acted as primary editor, integrating the contributions of the two authors. He also took charge of the responses to the referees, which required several iterations of amendments to the original manuscript. The research and writing time spent on this book was much greater than that required to produce two good quality journal papers, and this justifies double-weighting.
