Additional information

The unique feature of the research is that it accounts for the clay slippage phenomenon observed experimentally during processing, using a physically-sound cohesive zone approach. As a result, the model is useful for predicting the optimum processing conditions for the exfoliation of clay stacks during product forming. Figiel was invited to give a seminar talk on this topic at the Materials Modelling Colloquium Series at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, December 2012.
