This paper examines the bonding strength of various loading levels of nano-scale hydroxyapatite particles in polyetheretherketone for developing novel bio-materials. The generic knowledge on high performance thermoplastic PEEK derived from this study led to a KPT project in collaboration with Magma Global (contact Mr. S Hatton, Commercial Director, Steve.Hatton@magmaglobal.com), a world leading carbon fibre/ PEEK pipe designer and manufacturer for crude oil exploration.
