Additional information

<20>This work provides a theoretical framework to analyse interspecies sensemaking processes for supporting multispecies interaction design within pervasive computing contexts. Part of a wider agenda on animal-computer interaction, the research identifies opportunities for augmenting canine tracking technology. The findings prompted Retrieva (Andrew Stuart, MD, andrew.stuart@retrievatracking.co.uk) to fund the development of a biosensing harness, currently undergoing trials, to monitor the welfare of working (fire-fighting, search-rescue, police) dogs. The research was nominated for Best Paper at ACM Ubicomp'12 and was covered by specialist press in Dec'12-Jan'13 (Veterinary Record, Our Dogs, Pet Gazette, Dog Training Weekly, Pet Business World, MRCVS Online, Dogs Monthly).
