Greening the Media is the first book to bring together environmental and materials science, media, communication, cultural studies, political theory and political economy to explain media technologies. It offers an entirely new paradigm for understanding the development and operation of these devices, from print to phone, focusing on their environmental and health impacts in place of celebrating or reviling their impacts on consciousness. It draws on material published in several book collections and journal articles published since 2008, none of which is submitted elsewhere.
