<23> First ever wide-consensus paper on validation of retinal image analysis (RIA) software, from an international consortium of 14 centres co-ordinated by the submitter (Trucco, VAMPIRE project). Authors from clinical and image processing centers includes some of most cited RIA groups in the world (Singapore and Iowa). Paper ignited currently ongoing action to build the first ever validation data set by a large international consortium, still co-ordinated by Trucco and started July 2013 at IEEE EMBS Osaka, where Trucco organized and chaired special session on validation of RIA algorithms.
