Significance of output:

This international collaboration led to the significantly improved performance of a wireless system (Bluetooth dongle) with a small form factor (35% reduction) and increased range (by a factor of 10) compared with conventional technologies. This was achieved by the integration of a highly efficient dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) in a system in package (SiP); the work generated a patent (USPTO-6,879,287) and has been incorporated into devices commercialised by Jurong Technologies and EDSLab Technologies Singapore.
