English abstract

The article provides a re-examination of I.Laodikeia 10. It illuminates the content of the fragmentary lines by exploring parallels from the literary and epigraphic sources that have not been considered so far. In addition, central aspects of its historical context and dating are re-assessed. It is argued that the inscription must be dated into the early reign of Antoninus Pius rather than the 3rd century AD (as has been assumed so far). The inscription can be identified as the copy of an imperial constitution (c. 138 A.D.), which advocates the idea of concord between the rivalling poleis.
