Additional information

<22>NLG is the top Natural Language Generation conference. This paper describes the RoadSafe system which was highlighted in the press http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/7885460.stm. This work attracted several queries from road maintenance agencies across the UK. This increased interest in using our technology in a broad range of practical applications is one of the main factors motivating the creation of the spin-off company Data2Text Ltd. An extended version of the paper appeared as an invited chapter: Turner, Sripada and Reiter, “Generating Approximate Geographic Descriptions”, in Empirical Methods in Natural Language Generation, Krahmer and Theune (eds.). Springer pp. 121-140.
