Additional information

The contribution of this paper is a set of techniques, novel algorithms, and enhanced architectures that extend the lifespan and reliability of flash memory based storage systems (and the data stored in those systems) in high-consequence and safety-critical applications. Impact is the validation of the core ideas, enabling a number of follow-on PhD projects targeted at the development of a high reliability, verified flash file system in support of the UK Grand Challenges in Computing. Results are driving progress towards the construction of a verified, reliable flash file system targeted at the space sector.
