<02> Originality: The paper suggests a novel approach for integrating grid data resources to computational workflows. It enables workflow management systems establishing database connections during workflow execution.

Significance: The proposed solution significantly extends the way how grid workflow management systems can access data, and opens new ways of data utilisation in a large number of use-case scenarios. The solution has been adopted by production grid solutions and by several European projects.

Rigour: A reference implementation has been provided with detailed analysis of multiple scenarios.
