Discovery of 1-(3-{2-[4-(2-Methyl-5-quinolinyl)-1-piperazinyl]ethyl}phenyl)-2-imidazolidinone (GSK163090), a Potent, Selective, and Orally Active 5-HT(1A/B/D) Receptor Antagonist.
I made a substantial contribution to the conception and design of the project. I led the project when it was based in UK and designed and synthesised the key molecules which had the required pharmacological profile to enable the project to identify a clinical drug candidate. I was involved in synthesis, design, interpretation of biological and physicochemical data. I designed the first molecules with the required balance of 5-HT1ABD antagonism and an inventor on all the relevant patents. I helped draft the output and critique the output for important intellectual content.
