Additional information

Interpretation of a strategic 3D seismic volume, electrical well-log data and core samples provided a new basis for understanding the reservoir engineering of the Wissey Field. The petrophysical assessment combined with facies analysis resulted in the first successful production from a Plattendolomit Formation carbonate reservoir. As well as explaining the key geological factors that contributed to engineering success in the field, the results provided a foundation for evaluating the prospective potential that the reservoir has elsewhere in the basin. The outcome has enabled Tullow to keep gas flowing through its production hub, something that would otherwise have been under-capacity.
