Additional information
<9> This work arose from an EPSRC travel grant EP/H050329 that enabled MJS to collaborate with Prof. MacDonell at the Auckland University of Technology. It is important as it offers a rigorous and unbiased means of assessing prediction systems without which meaningful guidance cannot be given to software practitioners. Since publication (Aug 2012) it is already shaping how other researchers formally evaluate prediction systems e.g. groups at Birmingham University, West Virginia University, Strathclyde, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and UCL.
