Double-weighted statement

This monograph was the product of a long period of research and proposes a novel understanding of non-human animals in Christian theology, meeting the criteria of ‘a particularly extensive or complex concept or thesis’ and ‘collection and analysis of a considerable body of material’. A forthcoming review in the International Journal of Systematic Theology calls it ‘indisputably the most important and comprehensive theological treatment of animals to have appeared in any language at any time in the Christian tradition’.
