Additional information

The common process to create the texturing in the metal-strips used for the body of a car is known as Electro-Discharge-Texturing (EDT). The process has a multi-rotary arrangement in a small volume, the function being to focus as many electrodes into a given area as possible, given the limitations of the design constraints that is dominated by the physical size of DC/AC-servomotors. This research has developed a new compact high precision servo-control-feed-drive for EDT using ultrasonic technology that overcomes these limitations and transforms the application to a more reliable, stable and low cost system.
