Double-weighted statement

‘Multilingualism in modernist fiction’ involved an extensive and comparative overview of literature of the period and a close analysis of a wide range of complex texts. A range of linguistic expertise were involved in the literary analysis, in particular English, French and German. The book has a complex methodology and takes an interdisciplinary approach, which, alongside literary analysis, combines elements of linguistic and stylistic analysis, translation studies, and modern language study. A range of critical and theoretical knowledge underpins the work, including modernist theories, postcolonial theory, translation theory, linguistic theories, and theories of comparative and world literature.
