Double-weighted statement

The case for double-weighting this book is based on the length and extent of the fieldwork that underpins the research towards it. This comprised work over ten years in two communities in Birmingham. Stringer reviewed all the data collected over this time and identified the material that was of relevance to this topic. He then undertook specific fieldwork in two further neighbourhoods over a two year period between 2009 and 2011, supplemented by attendance at festivals over the same period. Finally, he collated, reviewed and analysed the data in conformity with theories in urban studies and religious studies.
