On Body Concealed Weapon Detection Using A Phased Antenna Array
The paper presents work carried out for the detection and identification of concealed weapons using the Complex Natural Resonances of weapons as unique, identifying, signatures. Concealed weapon detection has obvious application in the screening of people entering sensitive or crucial sites, for example at airports, major transport hubs and major civil events. The work presented here derives, in part, from research carried out for, and funded by, the Metropolitan Police Service and Centre for National Protection of Infrastructure (CPNI) and therefore has direct relevance in informing and guiding future technology that may be utilised by relevant government departments.
