This monograph is a unique example of a critical edition of a long and complex Middle-Irish poem being presented alongside an edition of an extensively glossed Early Modern version thereof. The poem has a complex manuscript tradition and a total of nine witnesses have been used, the authorial text being reconstructed from the eleventh-century recension. The Early Modern Irish version of the poem contains, in addition to the original canonical 78 quatrains, a further 7 quatrains which have also been translated here for the first time.
