ENERGETIC PARTICLE CROSS-FIELD PROPAGATION EARLY IN A SOLAR EVENT

Dalla provided the initial version of the code and introduced her postdoc Laitinen to full-orbit test-particle simulations. She closely collaborated on the research via discussion of results in regular meetings and co-wrote the paper, which shows that the classic diffusion approach does not adequately describe the early phase of SEP events and suggests a new more accurate model. Laitinen is Dalla's postdoc funded via the STFC consolidated grant. Marsh is Dalla's postdoc funded by the EU FP7 Collaborative Project COMESEP.
