Geometrically Induced Force Interaction for Three-Dimensional Deformable Models
<23> This work introduces a new three-dimensional deformable model, which can be conveniently generalised to arbitrary dimensions. It is based on hypothesised geometrical interactions between relative geometries of the deformable model and the object of interest. It addresses one of the fundamental issues in high dimensional deformable modelling: initialisation dependency and poor convergence, which hinders their real-world applications. Comprehensive comparative study shows that the proposed method achieves significant improvements against existing techniques. It provides a new framework for segmenting volumetric and even higher dimensional data, with little or no prior knowledge. It is published in a top Image Processing journal.
