Additional information

<26> This paper presents the solution to a problem that persisted since 1985, namely, the application of the parallel coordinates to large data sets. The authors present techniques that solve the overplotting problem when visualizing large-multidimensional data sets using the parallel coordinates technique. Alfred Inselberg, the original creator of the parallel coordinates technique, wrote "I was delighted to see your nice paper, congratulations!" (email, 19 July 2011).
