Additional information

This work makes an important contribution towards the microscale modelling of damage in composite materials. A new approach of extracting stress intensity factors, necessary for predicting crack growth behaviour, within a novel extended element-free Galerkin (XEFG) formulation was developed and extensively verified against numerous existing analytical solutions.
