Additional information

The work advances reconfigurable hardware. The output of an EPSRC funded project (EP/F062192/1, in collaboration with UWE, Bristol), a new design for fault-tolerant VLSI systems has been developed based on unicellular biological cells. The result is a novel cellular array-based fault-tolerant electronic system that is capable of autonomous self-repair. This forms one of the themes that have resulted in a recently funded EPSRC Platform Grant (EP/K040820/1) and is the subject of an additional EPSRC funded study (EP/1033246/1).
