Additional information

This paper on reliability analysis of marine energy converters is the first to address the lack of failure rate data, in that it presents a generic procedure to obtain accelerated load-time histories for service simulation testing. Via a case study it illustrated how reliability can be predicted rather than measured in field trials. Such information is viral for risk prediction and reduction for companies making and deploying renewable marine energy devices, a critical issue which has hindered expansion of renewable marine energy to date.
