Additional information

<07> This paper is the first empirical study to analyse the adverse effect of aspect composition mechanisms on exceptional flow in programs. Before this paper, the focus of empirical research on aspect composition remained on normal control flow of programs; the impact and the extent of that impact on exception handling code had not been considered. The bug patterns identified in the paper have shaped further empirical studies on the topic (as evidenced by citations) as well as the design of the Ptolemy aspect-oriented programming language at Iowa State University.
