Heck reactions using segmented flow conditions
The precision microfluidics and vastly accelerated chemistry demonstrated from this study were functionally demonstrated 'live' at TechnologyWorld 2010 (Excel-Centre, London), upon invitation from the TSB NanoTechnnology Knowledge Transfer Network (contact Alec.Reader@nanoktn.com). This led to funded collaboration with the STFC on their proposed fusion energy HiPER project (Martin.Tolley@stfc.ac.uk) and invitation to the 2013 Fellows meeting in Prague. This, in turn, directly resulted in the funding of 3 PhD studies (£90k) on fusion energy target fabrication, funded by STFC (Martin.Tolley@STFC.ac.uk), AWE (nick.bazin@awe.co.uk) and the Chinese Scholarship Council.
