Double-weighted statement

This monograph, which provides an innovative approach to the place of invective within late Roman politics, represents the culmination of a substantial research project over the course of nine years, including preparing English versions of a number of previously untranslated fourth-century works. The main texts involved in this study were by patristic authors, but I placed them within the context of late Roman history, which required me to engage with a wide range of ancient material and modern historiography spread across the traditional disciplines of Classics, Patristics and Early Medieval History.
