Additional information

This is the first usage of a new electrical conductivity measurement technique for large numbers of carbon nanotubes, pioneered at QMUL in 2007, to elucidate percolation in composite systems. The work was developed within the framework of the EU Specific Targeted Research Project DESYGN-IT (No.NMP4-CT-2004-505626, total value £3m) and results from a collaboration with leading CNT polymer composite groups from Belfast, Dresden and Dublin .The materials issues addressed are central to the processing and application of conductive polymer composite materials in automotive and smart-material applications.
