Isotype: international picture language
This curated and designed exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum traced the story of Isotype over four decades, from its invention in 1920s Vienna to its flourishing in postwar Britain. The exhibition was arranged in 12 sections and drew almost exclusively on material held in the Otto & Marie Neurath Isotype Collection at the University of Reading, with several further objects borrowed from private collections. In total, 153 original objects were included; an additional 63 were shown in reproduction. Further information, including text of the exhibition panels, and photographs can be found at: http://isotyperevisited.org/exhibition/index.html This exhibition is one of the key outputs of the AHRC-funded ‘Isotype revisited’ project.
