Additional information

This paper advances the manipulation of human cells with electromagnetic fields. In collaboration with University of Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Biology at York, and part-funded through the White Rose Health & Innovation Partnership and PhD studentship schemes, AC pulses are shown to be as effective as the traditional DC pulses for electroporating cells, with the added advantage that at kHz frequencies they produce no neuro-muscular stimulation. This work has been the subject to a patent application (GB0918066.2) and industrial collaboration with Magstim Ltd (john.scandone@magstim.com).
