<01>An important issue in grid computing is efficient resource discovery. We present a novel decentralized discovery mechanism for this problem. Our algorithm is capable of flexibly and dynamically discovering resources in distributed environments. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first model to consider both semantic-support and agent-based implementation of distributed resource discovery. This work builds on theoretical foundations related to semantics/ontologies and complex network theory, is demonstrably mathematically sound, and has been experimentally validated.
