Additional information

<24> This paper represents a novel soft computing approach to extraction of road attributes from GPS derived vehicle data, and has wider potential application. Large scale testing and evaluation shows that the snap-drift method demonstrably scales up well and provides a feasible real-time solution. Researchers on road and street map applications using crowd sourced data and smart phones have begun to reference this work.
