Co-simulation of wireless networked control systems over mobile ad hoc network using SIMULINK and OPNET
The co-simulation framework developed in this paper has been applied in investigating the development of the remote control of excavators with a paper which won best student paper (Modelling and Remote Control of the Excavator, 15th International Conference on Automation & Computing, 2009). A demonstrator on network control of a robot based on the method was presented at the event organised at Sellafield in March 2009 (Smart Tele-operated Adaptive Fusion multi-Function System), a collaborative project between Prof Yu's team with JCB/Sellafield. It also led to a joint funded PhD research project between ZhongYuan University (China) and Bournemouth University (2013).
