This Project was supported by Caterpillar Inc. Dr. Deng was the Principal Investigator for this project and worked closely with Caterpillar colleagues (such as Mr. B. Shull). This work has made a big contribution to extending the lifetime of the Diesel Particulate Filter of Caterpillar Inc. The work was noted by Caterpillar colleagues as being “ (an) excellent report and excellent work”. This work has led to collaboration between Caterpillar Inc, Kingston, Loughborough, and Cambridge Universities. Mr. KinYip Chan is a PhD student currently working under Dr Deng’s supervision on a joint project with funding from Caterpillar Inc.
