Additional information

This paper informs new developments in ultra-low noise oscillators. Partly funded during a BAE Systems/Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair (Sept 2007 to August 2012), the resulting work led to a key (low cost) component for the design of tunable ultra-low noise 10GHz Oscillators operating at room temperature. This work provided significant input for the IEEE Workshop on Low Phase Noise Oscillators: Theory, Design and Laboratory (at IEEE Conference on Microwave Theory and Techniques 2009,10 &11).
