Double-weighted statement

Extensive and complex thesis/analysis of a considerable body of material: building on an accumulation of longstanding research but also presenting entirely new material, all exhaustively documented, and covering the entirety of Lorca's poetic oeuvre (one of very few studies in English to do so). Presentation of a critical insight or argument: on the basis of many years of study, bringing together many detailed close readings, the book offers numerous new insights and arrives at a uniquely “metapoetic” reading as an ongoing and overarching concern across Lorca’s poetry, while at the same time constituting an original study of a canonical poet.
