Additional information

This paper reports the lowest-ever detection limit achieved for proteins using electronic microsensors. This work thus enhances the state-of-the-art in label-free cancer diagnostics. The collaboration of four internationally leading groups across disciplines was led by Estrela. The paper led directly to participation in the FP7 project HiPAD - "High-Throughput, Label-Free Detection of High-Density Peptide MicroArrays" (EUR4.8M project with EUR440k for Bath - ref: 278832). This work also contributed towards the award of a EUR4.0M Marie Curie Initial Training Network "PROSENSE" led by Estrela (EUR1.0M for Bath - ref: 317420).
