Double-weighted statement

This book is based on 7 years extensive new archival research in Britain, Canada, Australia, NZ and the US, AND engages with debates about globalisation, empire and the mass media. It uses evidence gathered in a comprehensive trawl through thousands of files in the BBC archives and counterpart organisations overseas, many of which had not previously been used by historians. lt also draws on government archives and collections of private papers, to provide the first full, scholarly analysis of the BBC's attempts to promote the unity of the British empire.
