Additional information

<22>Substantial survey, covering both technological and application aspects of ambient intelligence.

One research contribution was the identification of the area of intention recognition as central to many ambient intelligence applications, and its research challenges, leading to several subsequent efforts in this area. One at the University of Lisbon, in a recent PhD of Han The Anh, using Baysian techniques for intention recognition, and considering game-theoretic applications (I was an examiner of this PhD). Others, here, using logic-based and unsupervised clustering learning techniques, leading to new, very recent publications, and several distinction level postgraduate projects.
